Samsung D900 – World's slimmest mobile phone!

The Samsung D900 belongs to the celebrated Ultra Edition Range that features mobile phones that are designed keeping pockets in mind. Certainly a feat of engineering, the Samsung D900 is just 13mm thick (posing as the world's slimmest mobile so far) and crammed with impressive ergonomics, to be a good companion for a modern user.

The design and layout of Samsung D900 is very similar to other phones from the houses of Samsung. There is a bright screen located at the front fascia, which measures 32mm by 43mm and displays 262,000 colours. There are two soft keys and navigation key underneath, and a send/ cancel/ end call key at the bottom.

In terms of features, the Samsung D900 evinces technological prowess in many aspects. One of the chief highlights is its 3 MP camera. The camera comes with auto focus, flash and number of editing options. Plus, the advantage of picture effects and frame enables the users to exercise their imagination and capture image the way they desire to. For more imaging fun, the Samsung D900 comes with screensavers, wallpapers and photo caller ID. Music is taken care by its powerful music player that is compatible with Mp3, AAC, and ACC+ file formats.

Besides entertainment, other features offered by Samsung D900 are SMS, EMS, MMS and emails, WAP 2.0, GPRS, power to compose and read papers in Excel/ Word/ Power Point and PDF formats, organiser, EDGE, Bluetooth and quad-band. The phone offers 3.5 hours of talk time and 250 hours of standby.

There are few areas of concern though. To begin with, the keys of Samsung D900 are hard to distinguish and operate. Also, the bottom section of the phone sticks out making accessing the bottom three keys difficult. Hopefully a firmware upgrade will take care of these flaws. As of now, if one is able to get used to of the device, Samsung D900 will sure offer pleasurable experience.
